Year In Review: The Breast Bits

Our highlights reel for 2021

Happy New Year! Wow. We can hardly believe it’s January already and a brand new year once again. We know that 2021 was a challenging year in so many ways, and we are incredibly grateful that for Evenly, last year also brought plenty of things to celebrate. In the rollercoaster that was the past 12 months, our 'not so exclusive club' grew its following as more people discovered Evenly. We had the great pleasure of helping our new customers manage the hurdles that uneven boobs can thrust in front of us sometimes, balancing one bra at a time. As we welcome in 2022 and look forward to the year ahead with our customers and Uneven Titty Committee members, we wanted to share some of our 2021 highlights with you all as we start a brand new year together.

Winner Winner!

One of the most exciting things to happen for Evenly last year was our Founder Kate Taylor being selected as one of Innovate UK's Women in Innovation award winners in March 2021. Kate is part of the winning group of pioneering female entrepreneurs who are working to develop innovations in areas such as climate change, forensics, law, education and healthcare. This prestigious award from the UK Government brought with it a large financial investment in Evenly which is being used to bring us closer to our goal of creating a bra specifically for breast asymmetry after we recently hit on a design breakthrough. It also opened up a huge network of experts and Innovation industry gurus to support Kate and the Evenly business as we move towards becoming the industry leader for breast asymmetry support.

"Winning this award is a huge privilege to me personally but also I see it as a huge boost to the millions of women globally who are struggling with the impacts of severe breast asymmetry. Finally, breast asymmetry has been recognised as an important issue with very real impacts on women's lives and this award win demonstrates that it is considered an area of innovation worthy of the government's support and investment"

- Kate Taylor, Founder of Evenly

Cover Girl

Hot on the heels of Kate's Women in Innovation award win, in May she was also featured as one of Insider magazine's '42 under 42' Class Of 2021, joining fellow young entrepreneurs and business leaders from the South West of England. It was incredibly encouraging to have the platform to share about breast asymmetry and female-led business and innovation, making uneven boobs front page news! You can read the full issue here or skip straight to the part about Evenly's founder, Kate.

Welcome Little One

As well as developing industry-changing inventions, our Founder Kate also made something else very special last year, welcoming her first child baby Taylor, who was born in September 2021. Kate found out she was expecting her daughter just after being awarded the Women in Innovation Award, and quickly discovered the realities of being a working mother and business founder. Welcome to the Evenly team baby girl!

It's All About Balance

At the beginning of 2021, our Evenly Bra Balancer™ started making its way into people’s homes (and bras) after its launch in December 2020. It was incredible to receive the amazing responses and reviews we did throughout 2021. Our customers were so generous, sharing reviews on how the Bra Balancer™ has "changed their lives" with increased comfort and self-confidence. We jumped for joy at some of the feedback - thank you! We were also able to increase the bra sizes we cater for towards the end of 2021, meaning we can help more people to balance their bra, now catering for larger cup sizes.

The Uneven Titty Committee

Throughout 2021 our community Facebook group grew to over 200 members worldwide, and what a great bunch of humans they are! The Uneven Titty Committee™ is a safe, private group and a space to share stories, hints and tips on living with breast asymmetry. Last year we had some amazing open and honest discussions and the support we’ve seen shared between our members gives us the warm and fuzzy feels. We hope that our group continues to grow in 2022. We’re all in this together!

This Is Just The Beginning
